Old shed material is easier to review when it is visible and separated by type. Do not cut or break pieces only to make the pile look smaller; that can expose sharp edges or suspect material.

Protect anything meant for reuse

Set reusable doors, windows, hardware, and sound boards away from the removal pile. Label them clearly before loading starts.

Separate by material

Keep lumber, metal, roofing, concrete, and household trash in distinct areas when space allows. This makes weight and disposal questions easier to answer.

Do not bundle hidden hazards

Loose nails, broken glass, wet insulation, and unknown sheet material should be photographed and described. Do not wrap them inside opaque bags without telling the hauler.

Measure the longest pieces

Gate turns and trailer dimensions matter when boards or panels are longer than the access path is wide. Include the longest item in the first conversation.
